Floyd W Kleeves
Floyd William Kleeves, 90, of Port Huron went to sleep on Monday, January 24, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 31, 1931 in Holland, Michigan to the late Raymond and Margaret Kleeves. He married Dorothy Muter on May 26, 1956 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on November 1, 2020 after 64 years of marriage.
Floyd graduated from Marysville High School, class of 1949. He joined the United States Air Force in 1951 during the Korean War and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Korea. He was discharged in 1955. Most of his life he was employed in the automotive body repair business.
Floyd loved fishing, camping, woodworking and helping out others. He enjoyed all forms of racing, Formula 1, NASCAR and Indy. He also enjoyed listening to country music and attending family socials.
He is survived by four children, Mike (Connie) Kleeves, Steve Kleeves, Tom Kleeves and Linda (Ron) Kincaid; grandchildren, Adam Kincaid, Heather (Scott) Bennett, Melissa (Brandon) Romig, Matt Kleeves, Andrew Kleeves, Sharon Kleeves, Chris Kleeves, Matt Medrano, Nick (Michelle) Medrano and Celeste Mitchell; ten great grandchildren; siblings, Margo Shoemaker, Donna Smith, Mary Bickford, Ron (Nancy) Kleeves, Betty Murawski and Bev Vernetti; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Barb, Doris, Joan and Lillian; and brothers, Melvin and Ray.
A service for both Floyd and Dorothy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday May 26, 2022 at the Lakeside Cemetery Chapel, which would have been their 66th Anniversary. Pastor Tony Messer will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Burial will be at the Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium, Port Huron.
