Obituary

Mary Frances “Fran” Hreha, age 82, of Laurie, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at her home. She was born August 17, 1939, in Port Huron, Michigan, a daughter of the late Elmer and Genevieve (Bernard) Ward.

Fran worked for Michigan Bell and Southern Bell until her retirement after thirty years.

She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, taking walks, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Fran was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sylva, North Carolina. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Aglitz and husband Bill of Cocoa, Florida, John “Jamie” Hreha and wife Debbie of Marietta, Georgia, Linda Neff and husband Andy of Laurie, Missouri, Patricia DeLucia of Sylva, North Carolina and Michael Hreha and wife Jayne of Sylva, North Carolina; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her brother, Gerry Ward and wife Eileen of Port Huron, Michigan; several nieces and nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin daughters, Lori and Lorraine Hreha, her brother, William “Bill” Ward and her sister, Elizabeth “Liz” Rock.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 27th, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie with Father John Schmitz celebrating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the church with a rosary prayed at 10:30 a.m.

A second Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 4th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Huron, Michigan with Father Bradley Forintos celebrating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Burial services will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Port Huron.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Lake Regional Hospice in Osage Beach, Missouri or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
