Harold E Schrader
Harold Edward Schrader, 89, lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011.
He was born on April 19, 1922 in Port Huron to the late Fred and Kitty Schrader. He married Joan E. Ralston who preceded him in death.
Harold and his father owned and operated Schrader & Sons Scrap Metal. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Moose Lodge #158.
He is survived by his fiancé, Ramona Bice of Port Huron; son, Thomas F. (Helen) Schrader of Burtchville; daughters, Catherine Hedberg of Fort Gratiot and Peggy (Alwyn) Gregg of St. Clair; grandchildren, Thomas (Jere) Schrader, Terri Schrader, Tanya (Craig) Stover, Trina (Jason) Scotcher, John and David Dortmann, JoLee (Aric) VanTroostenberghe, and Branden Gregg; great grandchildren, Tabitha, Kelsey, Zachary, Mitchell, Matthew, Tanner, Tyson, Jinger, and Taelynn; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Schrader.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2011 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend John Carrier will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Gratiot. Pallbearers will be David and John Dortmann, Brandon Gregg, Mitchell and Thomas Schrader, and Zachary Smith. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
