JoAnn Moore Condolences Short URL Tweet JoAnn July 1st, 1948 to February 6th, 2022 Obituary JoAnn Moore, 73, of Fort Gratiot, died Sunday, February 6, 2022. She was born July 1, 1948 in Port Huron to the late John and Pauline Pozdrowski. She married Dwight Moore on October 18, 1968 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2016 after 48 years of marriage. After graduating from Port Huron High School in 1966, JoAnn married the love of her life and moved to Germany, where she had her first child, James. After returning to the Port Huron area with Dwight, she nurtured her family, both nuclear and extended, for her remaining years, raising three children in a loving environment. She was employed for most of her working life as an office manager with Ellis Construction, earning the friendship of many in the construction business. As an active member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, JoAnn volunteered on a regular basis as a leader in the Pythian Sisters and as an involved member of the community. JoAnn was a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge #343, and Blue Water Area #3702 F.O.E. JoAnn was an engaged parent with all three of her children. She served as the PHHS Sports Booster president for many years, and worked the east ticket gate for football games well after her youngest child had graduated. JoAnn was a proud Big Red, and enjoyed being with other Big Red supporters. JoAnn adored her friends, and her many adventures with them. The bowling trips, the weekly lunches, and the many, many lengthy phone calls were a very important and treasured part of her life. She is survived by three children, Jim (Stephanie) Moore, Andy (Stacey) Moore and Jennifer (Mark) Pitzo; grandchildren, Megan Moore (Brian Smith), Ryan Moore, Allison and Ethan Urban, John, Daniel and Caroline Moore and Michael and Matthew Pitzo; a sister, Patricia Pozdrowski; sisters-in-law, Therese Ekelund, Jane (Don) Williams, Joan DeLand, Brooksine May, Patricia Moore, Rosalie Phillips, and Carol Moore; many nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Pozdrowski Jr; and beloved companion, Buster. Visitation will be held from 12-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 2:45 p.m. JoAnn will lie in state from 10:30 until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate. Burial will follow in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township. Pallbearers will be JoAnn’s family.
