Alta Shaw

Alta Marie Patterson-Shaw, 95, of Burtchville, died Saturday, February 12, 2022.

She was born February 25, 1926 in Croswell to the late Floyd and Gladys Burch.

Alta worked for the St. Clair County Department of Human Services for many years prior to her retirement. She loved playing cards, especially euchre. She was a member of the Octabelle’s, a group of eight women who were friends since high school and who met monthly. She enjoyed keeping up with her family and going for rides.

She is survived by two sons, James (Karen) Patterson and Robert (Laurie) Patterson; daughter, Kathy (Ray) Holley; son-in-law, Shawn Pearce; six grandchildren, James (Brenda) Patterson Jr., Julie Patterson (Ken Nugent), Melissa Davis, Don (Brandee) Aman, Emily Pearce and Natalie Pearce (Nick Leppek); five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Patterson and Clint Shaw; three siblings, Ilene Burch, Mary (Erwin) Riley and Robert Burch; and her daughter, Karen Pearce.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022 in the Marysville Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Lay Minister Laurie Nuske will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeport Cemetery, Burtchville Township.
