Sandra Gushwa

Sandra Lee Gushwa, 83, of Grant Township, died Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

She was born September 4, 1938 in Port Huron to the late William and Freda Genaw. She married William Gushwa on February 26, 1957 in Georgia.

Sandra was employed with Michigan Bell Telephone Company for 38 years and later at Lakeport State Park for 10 years prior to her retirement. She loved working in the garden, going on vacation and taking care of their cats and dogs.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William; brother, Jim Genaw; brother, Joel (Kathy) Genaw, who was like a son and she raised from the age of 10; many nieces and nephew, including Joel’s children, who were like grandchildren to her, Joel (Kara) Genaw Jr., Julianne (Cory) Bradley and Jessica (Lucas) Jansich. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gaylord and William Genaw II.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12 noon.

Burial will be in Croswell Cemetery on Tuesday.
