Robert William Sovereen, 79, of Marysville, died Monday, February 21, 2022.

He was born October 2, 1942 in Port Huron to the late Calvin and Margaret Sovereen. He married Rosemary Meinhardt on August 8, 1959 in Port Huron.

Robert served in the U.S. Army. He was employed with Mueller Brass for 40 years prior to his retirement. Robert enjoyed going to his cabin up north, hunting, fishing and golfing. He was a union steward for Local 44 and a member of Columbus Bible Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; three sons, The Reverend Steven (Ronda) Sovereen, Scott (LeiLani) Sovereen and Robert (Deidre) King-Sovereen; six grandchildren, Rebekah (Titus) Roberts, Steven (Leah) Sovereen II, Adam (Annette) Sovereen, Cassandra (Evan) Marquardt, Ashlyn Sovereen and Katelyn Sovereen; four great grandchildren, Adelynn Roberts, Shane Roberts, Cole Roberts and Seth Sovereen; brother, Randy (Anita) Sovereen; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard (Jeri) Sovereen.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2022 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Reverend Jim Smith with officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Pallbearers will be Robert Sovereen, Adam Sovereen, Steven Sovereen II, Brian Herr, Dennis Herr, Roger Herr, Randy Sovereen and Bryan Balon. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
