Aaron W Gardner
Aaron Wayne Gardner, 89, of Port Huron Township, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.
He was born March 17, 1933 in Roseburg, Michigan to the late Frank and Alta Gardner. He married Ann Collingwood on September 22, 1954 in Port Huron.
Aaron graduated from Yale High School in 1951 and later served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He was a devoted member of Westhaven Baptist Church since 1963, involved in music ministry, property management and teaching Sunday School. Aaron was employed with Mueller Brass and later retired from Wirtz Manufacturing as a tool & die maker. He was known for his many skills…fixing, repairing and helping others.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann; daughter, Shelley (Lance) Stein; granddaughter, Renee (Greg) Halifax; five great grandchildren, Cierra, Allana, Nollan, Casey and Kaylee; brothers, David (Susan) Gardner and Bruce (Gail) Gardner; and sisters, Naomi (Lyle) Thompson and Dorothy Spencer. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Richard Gardner; brothers, Don, Edsel and Hubert Gardner; and sisters, Donna Ostrander and Beverly Sizemore.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022 in Westhaven Baptist Church. The Reverend Randy Pouliot will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.
