Walker Leroy Archer, 86, of Fort Gratiot, died Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
He was born August 13, 1935 in Port Huron to the late Walker and Helen Archer. He married his best friend, Mary Grace Fitzgibbon on October 19, 1957. She died May 10, 2018.
Walker lovingly and faithfully cared for Mary during the last ten years of her life while living with Alzheimer’s. He enjoyed sports, whether he was coaching, playing or watching. Walker was an avid pie lover, especially from the Manis diner. He was also known for his joking spirit and sense of humor.
He is survived by three children, Walker (Anne) Archer, Kim Hines and Kari (Kevin) Baker; four grandchildren, Ashley (Dave) Troy, Bryce (Carmon) Brown, Kayleigh (T.J.) Smith and Cassie Baker; five great grandchildren, Owen, Callum, Eli, Connor and Everett; and brother, Garry (Mary Lou) Archer; brother-in-law, David Fitzgibbons; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 in Ross Bible Church, 2865 Maywood Dr., Port Huron, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Steven Scott will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
