Emily Janice “Jan” Fishel, 84, of Port Huron Township, died Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
She was born December 20, 1937 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to the late Amos A. and Jessie B. Howard.
Emily worked at the Goodells Nursing Home until it closed and then for Macomb County until her retirement. She enjoyed learning sign language to communicate with her son.
She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca (Lloyd) Butler; three sons, Michael (Chris) Fishel, David (Jeri) Fishel, and Daniel A. Fishel; four grandchildren, Ashley (Zach) Broome, Daniel M. (Holly) Fishel, Bobby (Sarah) Fishel, and Nathan Fishel (Hannah Gilbert); nine great grandchildren, Jackson, Audrey, Noah, Emmaline, Caroline, Grayson, Millie, Willa and Julianna; one brother, Steven (Diane) Howard; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cynthia Silverthorn; a grandchild; and sisters, Rosemary, Jean, Marion, and Elizabeth.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Dr. Robert Wynkoop will officiate. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery, Fargo.
