Obituary

Thelma Pearl Welser, 97, of Marysville, died Thursday, May 26, 2022.

She was born November 28, 1924 in St. Clair to the late Norman E. and Sarah “Sadie” Lamb. She married Walter C. Welser on June 21, 1947 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Clair.

Thelma graduated from St. Clair High School in 1943 and shortly afterwards went to work at Chrylser Corporation for the duration of WWII. When Walt returned from the service, they were married and began a family. This became Thelma’s primary focus and for the rest of her days she enjoyed taking care of her family, especially cooking for them. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was involved in the Ladies Aid Society and Altar Guild.

Thelma is survived by three sons, Larry Welser, Richard (Gayle) Welser and Daniel Welser; a grandson, Ryan (Stacy) Welser; three great grandchildren, William, Luke and Mae Pearl Welser; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt; two grandsons, Jared and Justin Welser; two sisters, Wanda (Raymond) Rogers and Martha (Lawrence) Landon; and a brother, Edward (Alice) Lamb.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in Immanuel Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor David DuBois will officiate.

Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair.
