Obituary

Ernest William Wisson, 94, a lifelong resident of Port Huron died unexpectedly on Friday, May 27, 2022.

He was born September 3, 1927 in Port Huron to the late James and Margaret Wisson. He married Marie Peters on July 10, 1953 in Angola, Indiana. She died February 25, 1994.

Ernest served in the U.S. Army. After his service, he was a manager at Kroger and Farmer Jack before working for and retiring from MDOT. Ernest was a talented golfer with four “Hole in 1s”, and also enjoyed bowling and fast pitch softball. He was a member of the Blue Water Shrine Club, American Legion Charles A. Hammond Post #8 for 27 years, B.P.O.E. Lodge #343 for 37 years, Moose Lodge #158 for 40 years, and was a life member of Port Huron Lodge #58 F. & A. M for 42 years where he was Mason of the year in 1999 and Grand Master Mason in 1992.

He is survived by three children, Kenneth (Lucia “Lucy”) Wisson, Fredrick (Debbie) Wisson and Cheryl Donnenworth; grandchildren, Khristy (Jared) Powell, Kendra (Ryan) Lake, Shauna (Brandon) McClain, Casey Donnenworth (Olivia Brown), Jesse (Melissa) Wisson and Michelle (Jeremy) O’Connor, Paul,Vienna, Giani, Amara, and Elaina Ditrapani-Wisson; eleven great grandchildren, with another one on the way; long-time companion, Suzanne Mrozek; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Timothy Donnenworth; and brothers, Richard (Barb) Wisson and Ted (Jane) Wisson.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with a Masonic Service at 7:45 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Dr. Joseph Baunoch will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Pallbearers will be his family. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
