Obituary

John R. Lashbrook, 73, of Marysville, died Thursday, June 2, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born May 13, 1949 in Port Huron, to the late Richard and Marcella Lashbrook. He married Cathy Duenaz Brast on November 11, 2000 in Port Huron.

Mr. Lashbrook graduated from Yale High School in 1967. He was employed as a Tool & Die Marker with Masco Corporation. He enjoyed race cars, driving his Corvette, working on his grandkid’s cars, playing golf and all kinds of sporting activities. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Marysville American Legion Post #449.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy; three stepchildren, Troy Brast, John Brast (Jess), and Billie-Jo (Steve) Drouillard; five grandchildren, Michealina “Mickey” Brast, Scott Brast, Zorah Drouillard, Macie Drouillard and Braedyn Drouillard; one great granddaughter, Zepplynn Kettlewell; siblings, Linda (Harold) Palmateer, Mary Jo (Patrick) Sheehy, Coleen (Tom) Cowhy, Kim (Victor “Bud”) Burcar and Patti (George) Sepsi; sisters-in-law, Pam Lashbrook, Belle Duenaz and Peach Duenaz; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike (Kathy) Duenaz, George Duenaz, Brian (Kristy) Duenaz, Scott Duenaz and Steven (Julie) Duenaz; best friend, Larry Lukovich; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kolin Lashbrook; and brothers-in-law, Richard and Frank Duenaz.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Deacon John Fitzmaurice will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the family for his grandchildren’s education.
