Ila J Hoetger

Ila J. Hoetger, 84, of Smiths Creek, died Sunday, June 5, 2022.

She was born January 11, 1938 in Port Huron to the late Roy and Ninabelle Kaercher. She married Dan Hoetger on July 26, 1958 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2022 after 63 years of marriage.

Ila retired as a bus driver with the Marysville School System in 2000 after 26 years of service. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir with her husband. Ila and Dan loved traveling and had visited many unique destinations around the world. The most important thing to her was her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane Catlett and Marsha Hoetger-Winans (Craig Winans); granddaughter, Porschelle (Daniel) Haynes; great grandchildren, Kylee and Olivia Haynes; sister, Dorothy (Tom) Harris; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine Borkowski; and dear friend of many years, Margaret Green.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Reverend Drew Hart will officiate.

Burial will be in Croswell Cemetery, Croswell.
