Dorothy McCarty

Dorothy McCarty, 104, of Marysville, died Monday, June 13, 2022.

She was born May 26, 1918 in Port Huron to the late Carl and Sophie Wehrwein. She married James McCarty, who preceded her in death after more than 60 years of marriage.

Dorothy was employed as a nurse at Mercy Hospital for many years before her retirement. She and her husband ran local businesses, including a boat livery and a motel before retiring to Florida. She was a championship golfer in Florida and enjoyed playing bridge. She returned to live out her remaining years with her family on the river.

She is survived by her son, Daniel (Patricia) McCarty; five grandchildren, Daniel McCarty Jr., Melissa McCarty, Matt Tramontana, Mark Tramontana (Kristin) and Ron Pletz; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Tramontana.

Private family services will be held.
