Obituary

Almeda Werth, 92, of Fort Gratiot, died Thursday, June 23, 2022.

She was born with her twin, Juanita on March 9, 1930 in Fillmore, KY, the youngest of eleven children, to the late Curtis and Rutha Spencer. She married the love of her life, Raymond W. Werth on March 11, 1946 in Rochester, MI. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1995 after 49 years of marriage.

Almeda was employed as a transportation paraprofessional for the Port Huron Area School District for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed gardening and mowing the lawn and loved hanging clothes to dry in the sunshine. She loved music, dancing and singing with her twin sister. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her children.

She is survived by six children, Raylee (Bill) Kohl, Shayne (Benita) Werth, Susan (Kevin) Eagen, Ernest (Michael) Werth-Toward, Raymond (Debbie) Werth II and Renee (Daniel) Barr; 17 grandchildren, Becky (Randy) Peters, Dean (Carreena) Lynch Jr., Donna (Mike) Smith, Jason (Carrie) Werth, Shayna Werth, Kevin Eagen II, Adam Wheeler, Kelsey (Jason) Warshefski, Korey Eagen, Raymond (Amanda) Werth III, Nathan (Autumn) Barr, Aaron (Colleen) Barr, Haley (Andy) Helton, Delaney Barr, Darian Barr, Michael Toward and Allison (Curtis) Ford; and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tanis Lynch; infant son, Mark Anthony Werth; and ten brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2022 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Werth’s son, The Rev. Ernest Werth-Toward will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Pallbearers will be her sons and sons-in-law.
