Elaine B Olsen

January 14th, 1925 to July 4th, 2022

Elaine Betty Olsen, 97, of Port Huron, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022 at Marwood Nursing and Rehab.

She was born January 14, 1925 in Saginaw, Michigan to Delbert and Lillie Stevenson.

Elaine graduated from Saginaw High School in 1943. A few years later she met her first love, Walter Lentz from Freeland, Michigan and they married in 1946. Elaine and Walter moved to Port Huron where they settled and had seven children. Although being a wife and mother kept her very busy, she still managed to have time to help at her church, Trinity Lutheran in Port Huron, where she had many good memories. Walter passed away in 1974. She became a single parent continuing to raise children still at home and working, but then a new love, Richard Olsen, came into her life. Elaine and Richard married in 1978. They became inseparable, traveling all over the United States as well as Europe and Iran. Elaine was a huge Detroit Tigers Fan from the time she was a teenager in Saginaw and could tell you any facts about the Tigers. It was amazing. When Richard retired, they moved to Lakeland, Florida to be closer to the Tigers for spring training. After Richard became ill, they moved back to Port Huron to be near family.

Elaine is survived by her children, Walter “Mike” (Katherine) Lentz, Marguerite (Joseph) Banka, Patricia Todd, David Lentz and Linda Gonder; son-in-law, Kazem Mirkhani; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jack and Jane; daughters, Sarah Mirkhani and Martha Lentz; and her husbands, Walter Lentz and Richard Olsen.

Private family services were held on Thursday, July 7 in Trinity Lutheran Church.

Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers were Nick Black, Jonathan Fretenborough, Dan Griffin, Davon Kars, David Marzolf, Alex Mirkhani, Nigel Perry, Dan Rutkowski and Brett Sivec.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
