Clifford F Smith

Clifford Fredrick Smith, 90, of Port Huron, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born May 28, 1921 in Port Huron to the late George and Edith Smith and was a life long area resident. He married Norma Cross on November 8, 1941 in Port Huron. She died July 12, 1992. He married Helen Moon on October 1, 1993 in Marysville. She died May 2, 2010.

Mr. Smith Retired from the City of Port Huron and served in the U. S. Army Medical Corps during WWII. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, loved life, being on the go and carpentry. He was a member of Marysville American Legion Post 449, Charles Schoor V.F.W. Post 796 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge 3702.

He is survived by three children, Sandi (Tom) Hustek, Doug (Carol) Smith and Bob (Marilyn) Smith; two step children, Sandra (Rod) Plichta and Lawrence (Linda) Warren; eight grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Smith; step brother-in-law, Gerald (Aileta) Emig; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a step-son, William Warren; and a step-daughter, Cynthia Hall and her husband Willie.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 in Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Reverend John Carrier will officiate. Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
