Delores Thomason, 68, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
She was born July 19, 1954 in Port Huron to the late Sylvester and Margaret Hill. She married John Thomason on November 11, 1971 in Port Huron.
Delores enjoyed spending time with her family, especially around Christmas, because she loved cooking and giving gifts to others. She also had a heart of gold, full of love and compassion for those in need. This propelled her to open “Mother Hill’s House of Hope” homeless shelter to serve the community. She was a true woman of faith who loved sharing the word of God and winning souls to Christ. Her legacy of love will live on through the countless acts of kindness she has shown.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 50 years, John; son, Pastor John (Tonya) Thomason; daughter, Shanta (Anthony) Anderson; grandchildren, Tenaya Duren, Melvin Duren III, Alicia Thomason, Destiny Riggins, Dejha’ Riggins, Davonya Riggins and Marcease (Melissa) Howard; many great grandchildren; brothers, Sylvester (Janice) Hill Jr. and Ricky (Rhonda) Hill; sisters, Curley Mae Bell, Veter (Melvin) Nichols-Shaw, Lorraine Powell, Brenda (Joel) Thomason and Lena (Harold) Smith; lifelong best friend, Cecilia Combs; godchildren, Tiara Jemison, Ciara Jemison, Jazmine Jemison, James Jemison Jr. and Katora Shari Boyd; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Neaver Hill.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022 in Kingdom Authority Ministries. Pastor David Nichols will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
