Sharon M. Lech

December 25th, 1954 to September 26th, 2022

Sharon Marie Lech, 67, of St. Clair, died Monday, September 26, 2022 after a short battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born December 25, 1954 in Detroit to the late Howard J. and Frances Carver. She married David M. Lech on June 13, 1980 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseville.

Sharon graduated in 1973 from Carl Brablec High School in Roseville and went to work for Michigan Bell Telephone. She was employed with the company until her retirement from AT&T after 37 years. Sharon was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church.

“Mama Lech” was a giver. Her happiest times were spent hosting family and friends and taking care of others. She was a wonderful cook and loved making recipes her own. She enjoyed riding motorcycles in her younger years, going to concerts with her husband, and betting on football, especially her Detroit Lions. More than anything, Sharon loved being with her precious grandchildren, and she had a special relationship with each of them.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, David; daughters, Tania (Gus) Kurdi, Natalie Parent, and Amanda Lech (Jeff Middleton); five grandchildren, Serena and Mariah Kurdi, Ethan Lech, Aubrey Middleton, and Dani Parent; a great grandchild coming in March 2023; brothers, Jim (Michele) Carver and Brian (Chanda) Carver; sister, Maureen Yaklin; sister-in-law, Laura (Kenneth) Samp; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Daniel Parent; and a sister, Patricia Lindsay.

Visitation will be from 2-5 & 6-9 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home with a Scripture Service at 8:30 p.m.

Mrs. Lech will lie in state from 10:30 until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2022 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate. Gus Kurdi, Jeff Middleton, James Lindsay and Ron Egle will be pallbearers.

A luncheon will follow mass.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
