Donald Clifford Evans, dedicated husband, father and grandfather, 77, of Kimball, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022.
He was born October 26, 1944 in Port Huron to the late Alva and Beatrice Evans. He married Shirley Silverthorn on June 24, 1963 in Kentucky.
Donald retired from Falcon Transport, but a few years later began a seasonal job of driving a semi for Gardner Farms for 13 years and also for Frisbee Enterprises for 2 years. He was from a family of Kentucky musicians, many guitar players and singers of country and gospel music. Don was lead singer and rhythm guitar player of three bands over a span of many years-beginning in 1966 through 2012. Whenever his family got together it would usually involve playing music, singing and eating.
He loved taking his family on summer vacations, generally to the southern and western states. Those vacations were treasured times for them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley; children, Kim (Jay) Lasky and Michael (Laurie) Evans; grandchildren, Sarah Evans, Jay-Jay (Nancy) Lasky Jr., Justin (Dayna) Evans, Michaela Evans and Michael Evans; four great grandchildren; and siblings, Shirley O’Boyle, Verlan (Judy) Evans, Dolores Hilliker, Richard (Grace) Evans, Roger (Linda) Evans and David (Greta) Evans. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Evans Jr.; and sister, Diane Kania.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend James Turner will officiate.
Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township.
