Howard James Muir, 81, of Marysville, died Sunday, November 6, 2022.
He was born February 23, 1941 in Port Huron and married Barbara E. Reynolds on November 4, 1961 in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Port Huron.
Howard was employed with Chrysler Corporation for 34 years until his retirement in 1996. He served in the U.S. Army. The most important thing to Howard was his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his “Honey” of 61 years, Barbara; four children, Linda (Francis) Behnke, Micky (Jim) Mieksztyn, Timothy (LeeAnn) Muir and Douglas Muir; 11 grandchildren, Patrick (Allie) Scheuer, Brett (Mallory) Scheuer, Brandon Scheuer, Heidi (Cameron) King, Derek Mieksztyn, Nicole Mieksztyn (Greg Pawlawski), Taylor (Dan) Stocker, Paige Muir, Justin “JT” (Kaitie) Muir, Josh Muir (Abby Sensini) and Jordan Muir; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Muir; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Muir; son, Howard “Howie” Muir; mother, Harriet (Fred) Neaves; father, Carl (Edith) Muir; and brothers, Douglas (Lois) Muir and Renae “Ray” Muir.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Phil Whetstone will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice helping women and children.
