Obituary

Barry Lawrence Brockdorff, 69, of Marysville, died Thursday, November 17, 2022 after a courageous 17-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.

He was born October 9, 1953 in Port Huron to the late Delbert and Jean Brockdorff. He married Sandra (Baierl) Burmeister on March 9, 1984 in Port Huron.

Barry retired as a Captain with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department after 35 years of service. During his career he also served with the Dive Team and Marine Division and supervised all non-correctional services including the Drug Task Force, Detective Bureau, Road Patrol and Dispatch. He was a graduate of the National FBI Academy. He was a member of the Port Huron Masonic Lodge. Barry loved golfing, going to Florida, boating, fishing and working on projects around the house. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandra; son, Jason (Stacey) Brockdorff; daughter, Kristen (Dennis) Delor; grandchildren, Charleston Brockdorff, Alexandra Brockdorff, Jordyn Brockdorff, Jakob Delor, Mason Delor and Levi Delor; brother, Max (Lori) Brockdorff; sisters, Judy (David) Sutton, Penny Harris and Linda (Bob) Frendt; many nieces and nephews; and father-in-law, Clifford Baierl.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2022 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Eulogies will be read at 7:30 p.m. Friends unable to attend the eulogy service may view the livestream at 7:30 p.m. on the funeral home website.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.
