Wanda J Hyslop-Child

Wanda Jean Hyslop-Child, 91, of Clyde Township, died Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

She was born May 28, 1931 in Clyde Township to the late Albert and Winifred MacRury.

Jean owned and operated Merle Norman Beauty Salon for many years. She was a gray- lady at Mercy Hospital for 15 years, a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Red Hat Society, and Clyde Township Historical Group. Jean volunteered at Mid-City Nutrition, and in the Red Cross Clown Musical.

She is survived by her three daughters, Crystal Hyslop (Janice Czyscon), Kimberly (Donald) Shephard, and Tamara (Allan) Andreoni; step-children, Betty Child, Judy Albert, Patrick (Susan) Child, and Jeff Child (Mark Miller); eight grandchildren, Carmen (Troy) Baumann, Miranda Hyslop-Garza, Sean Beckett, Leslie Beckett, Zachary (Brittney) Andreoni, Alexandra Andreoni, Lee (Eli) Shephard-Church, and Jean Shephard; step-grandchildren, Scott Albert, Steven Albert, Tim (Allie) Child, and Michael Child; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Hyslop, and Fraser Child; step-son David Child; brother Angus MacRury, and sister Beulah (Scottie) Rucker.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023 in First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Roxie Davis will officiate.
