Obituary

George William “Bill” Dewey, 88, of Port Huron, died Friday, December 2, 2022.

He was born May 14, 1934 in Port Huron to the late Floyd and Beatrice Dewey. He married Isabelle Gerrow on September 12, 1952 in Port Huron.

Bill was employed from 1952 to 1984 at Mueller Brass. He was then a self-employed painter and decorator until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed woodcarving and had received many carving awards.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Isabelle; children, George (Diane) Dewey Jr., Michael (Linda) Dewey, Susan Dewey, Patricia (Glen) Landrith, James (Shari) Dewey and Thomas (Lori) Dewey; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Ruthann (Charles) Weldon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Doug; a sister, Francine; and great grandson, Wyatt.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend William Wright will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Gratiot Township. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Port Huron Little League or the St. Clair County Community College Retiree Group Scholarship Fund.
