Janet Black

Janet Lucille Black, 93, of Port Huron, died Friday, December 30, 2022.

She was born September 3, 1929 in Fort Gratiot to the late Lee and Ethel Bradley. She married Russel D. Black Sr. on July 23, 1949 in Port Huron. He died February 18, 2016.

Janet graduated from Marysville High School in 1947. She was employed as billing clerk with Chrysler Corporation for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling. She was a member of Blue Water Free Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Sherrie (Michael) Young and Brad (Gail) Black; daughter-in-law, Debra Black; six grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, William Black; and sister-in-law, Jenny Tack. She was preceded in death by her son, Russel Black Jr.; and four sisters, Vivian Dell, Phyllis Doerr, Ruth Watson and Eileen Walker.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in Blue Water Free Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Fred Wibert and the Reverend Michael Alexander will officiate.

Burial will be in Port Sanilac Cemetery, Sanilac Township. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
