Donald D "Del" Horne

Donald Delbert “Del” Horne, 86, of Kimball Township, died Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

He was born December 7, 1936 in Port Huron to the late Alfred and Myrtle Horne. He married Delores R. Zeller on January 14, 1961 in Marysville. She died October 9, 2006.

Del was employed with the Port Huron Police Department and retired after 34 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling in the RV, fixing cars and watching his grandsons in all of their activities. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and life member of the Port Huron Lodge #58 F. & A. M.

He is survived by his children, Roseann (Rick) Neumeyer and Ronald (Sandy) Horne; four grandsons, Brandon (Angela) Buelow, Andrew (Jacky) Buelow, Nick (Tammy) Horne and Jordan Horne; four great grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Zeller and Zander Buelow; sister, Marie Emmons; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred Horne

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Michael Opfermann will officiate.

Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township.
