Paul Edward Schmitt

Paul E. Schmitt, 62, of Port Huron, died peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, January 8, 2023. He was born January 30, 1960 in Port Huron to Katherine “Kay” and the late Robert F. “Bob” Schmitt. He graduated from Port Huron Central, class of 1978.

Paul enjoyed listening and singing to all types of music and the outdoors, especially animals and gardening. He had a wonderful sense of humor and will be remembered for his infectious laugh.

He is survived by his mother, Katherine “Kay” Schmitt; three siblings, John Schmitt, Mary (Tim) Kramer and Thomas Schmitt; a nephew, Taylor Raufus; and nieces, Chloe and Summerlee Schmitt, Melissa (Joseph) Dunleavy and Courtney (Adam) Fox. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” Schmitt and his brother, Robert “Rob” Schmitt.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27 at Port Huron Elks Lodge #343, 3292 Beach Road, Port Huron.
