Obituary

Vernie Martin Teichow, 87, of Avoca, died Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

He was born July 3, 1935 in Mount Clemens to Laverne and Irene Teichow. He married Edith Virginia Preston on February 19, 1955 in Fargo.

Vernie was a hardworking man who had many jobs throughout his life starting with delivering milk at the age of 4 with his father. He spent his career in the automotive industry and retired from Pontiac Motors in 1996 after 30 years of service. Vernie was a self-proclaimed “jack of all trades, master of none” who loved “rigging” things together. He was a proud hobby farmer and longtime member of the Marysville RLDS Church. His three passions in life were his loving wife, his beautiful family, and cutting grass on his “Cadillac” mower.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Edith; children, Mike Green, Lonnie (Mary) Teichow, Randy (Lynn) Teichow, Jeff (Kim) Teichow and Rebecca (Scott) Ramsey; grandchildren, Kelly (Jay), Carrie (Brian), Crissy (Cory), Jason (Amanda), Justin (Samantha), Lindsay (Mark), Krystal, Josh, Jacob, Jared, Jeffrey and Joey; 13 great grandchildren with another on the way; sister, Beverly (Alvin) Ward; brother, Dannie (Sharleen) Teichow; sister-in-law, Connie Teichow; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Joyce Green; and brothers, Delbert and Johnnie Teichow.

Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Elder Gary Wesch will officiate with a eulogy by Amanda Rose Hoskins.

Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery, Fargo. Pallbearers will be Vernie’s grandsons.
