D. Dwaine Darnell
Donald Dwaine Darnell, 71, of Port Huron, went peacefully to be with Our Lord and Savior, at home in the comfort of family and friends, Monday, January 23, 2023.
He was born September 30, 1951 in Detroit to the late Walter and Bettye (Barfield) Darnell.
Dwaine served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was employed as a machinist at General Dynamics for many years before his retirement. He grew up with a love of hunting and became an accomplished bow-hunter. He was known for having many passions in his life including dog breeding, Karaoke and woodworking. He could build anything and enjoyed staying busy at home and helping others. There wasn’t a place he went to that didn’t get to hear him singing. He was “a happy man.”
Dwaine is survived by his loving partner of 22 years, Gloria Brown; four stepdaughters, Ashley (Mat) Buffa, Julia (Jesse) Williams, April Gibson and Renee (Michael) Ostrander; two stepsons, Michael Rathnow and Brad Benner; four grandchildren, Noah, Ryan, Brooklynn and Adelle; five siblings, Eudora (Richard) La Londe, Valerie Jordan, Glenna (Michael) Baughman, Francine (Ron) Rossate and Walter Darnell; four nephews, Richard La Londe, James La Londe, Michael La Londe and Kyle Goetschel; and niece, Jemella Helmers. He was preceded in death by a special aunt and uncle, Dorothy and Jim Darnell.
