Cheril A Bigger-Rice, LPN

November 11th, 1937 to February 1st, 2023
It is with great sadness that we share the loss of Cheril Bigger-Rice, LPN, on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. She was home and surrounded by family following a brief illness. Cheril was born November 11, 1937 in Mount Clemens to the late John H. “Jack” and Francis M. “Fran” Schwark. She married Robert C. Bigger on October 15, 1956 in Marysville and together they had six children before he preceded her in death on February 14, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Jack Rice. Cheril was a dedicated caregiver at Mercy, St. Joseph Mount Clemens, Tawas and Annapolis Westland Hospitals before ending her career with 25+ years at Marwood Manor. Cheril loved to crochet and has made over 100 afghan blankets. She also enjoyed board games, and was a very competitive and skilled pool player. Cheril is survived by her six children, Stella “Pinky” Williams, Jackie Prigmore, Robert Bigger, Richard Bigger, Susan (Michael)Thompson and Wendy (Jim) Linden; her beloved niece, Millie Paterson (John Boyle); eleven grandchildren, Ann, Monte,Tara, Andy, Christopher, Brenna, Stephanie, Emily, Ian, Erin and Evan; twelve great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; her loving siblings, Nancy (Charlie) Oles, Sandy (Bob) Bolton, Larry (Mary) Schwark; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cheril had the greatest neighbors and friends that supported her through life’s trials. Her family would especially like to thank Curt and Kelly Babb, Marilyn Cruckshank, Cheryl Kaski, Mary Paterson, and Cathy Moutox. Cheril was preceded in death by her grandson, Joey Pelka; and sons-in-law, Jim Williams and Robert Cardarelli. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Sunday, February 5, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Dr. Daniel W. Surbrook II of CrossCulture Ministries Inc. will officiate. Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Blue Water Area Humane Society. Arrangements are by Marysville Funeral Home.
