Shirley “Pete” Maples, 97, of Marysville, died Friday, February 3, 2023.
She was born February 2, 1926 in St. Clair to the late Russell and Fay Radike. She married James Albert Maples on April 30, 1948 in St. Clair and he preceded her in death on September 12, 2006 after 58 years of marriage.
Shirley was a longtime member of Marysville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, solving word search puzzles, and sewing baby quilts. She loved to cross-stitch gifts for relatives and friends.
She is survived by her son, Tim Maples; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, and many more who lovingly called her “aunt Pete”. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Maples-Biscorner; four sisters, Arlene Westrick, Doris Radike, Wilda Marvin and Maxine Meyers; brother, Lynn Radike; and an infant child.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023 in Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Curtis Clarke of Marysville United Methodist Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
