Obituary

Linda Kay Farrer, 69, of Marysville, died Sunday, February 5, 2023.

She was born July 19, 1953 in St. Clair to the late Eugene L. “Red” and Helen A. Siler. She married her high school sweetheart, William L. Farrer on January 29, 1972 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clair.

Linda graduated from Marysville High School in 1971 and owned and operated a hair salon, Cabin Coiffures, in Marysville for 50 years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, feeding and watching the backyard birds, and going to the casino. She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, and caring for others. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bill; son, Jefferson L. Farrer; daughter, Amy Jo (Greg) Maryon; 10 grandchildren, Ashlyn (Paul) Rabahy, Collin (Alexca) Maryon, Lauren (Matthew) King, Evan, Jadyn, Brooklyn, Autumn, Jentzen, Madelyn and Stephen Maryon; two great grandchildren, Finnley Maryon and Samuel King, and another on the way, Charles King; three brothers, Gary (Julie) Siler, Kevin (Mary Jo) Siler, and Michael (Sandy) Siler; sister-in-law, Deborah (Don) Czarnecki; two brothers-in-law, George MacRae and Larry (Pamela) Farrer; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her faithful dog companion, Maggie.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Karen MacRae and Marilyn (Michael) Tovarez; her parents-in-law, Mary and Leonard “Jack” Farrer; and sister-in-law, Mary Jean Farrer.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A scripture service will be held at 3:45 p.m.

Mrs. Farrer will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Pallbearers will be Linda’s family.
