Obituary

Eugene Edmond Dingman, 87, of Marysville, passed away peacefully Friday, March 10, 2023.

He was born February 17, 1936 in Port Huron, one of ten children of the late Omar and Katherine (Shirkey) Dingman.

Eugene graduated from Marysville High School in 1954 and then proudly served his country for four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After leaving the Air Force, he went on to work for American Tape for 42 years before his retirement. Eugene was kind, funny, enjoyed helping others and working with his hands, especially woodworking.

He is survived by two children, Kirk (Kathleen) Dingman and Danielle Dingman (Gary Oberdorf); grandchildren, Breanna (Andrew) Day, Chelsi Dingman (fiancé Matt), Chad (Anna) Dingman and Bret (Natchaya) Dingman; three great granddaughters, Roslyn, Whitley and Elsa; two sisters, Genevieve Osentoski and Roberta Ehrler; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and loving friend, Noreen Niles. He was preceded in death by his son, Todd Dingman earlier this year; and seven siblings, Freddy, Patrick, Kenneth and Omar Dingman, Cecilia Genaw, Marysue Suisse and Ruth Smith.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Michael Opferman of Pilgrim Lutheran Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Pallbearers will be Kirk, Chad, and Bret Dingman, Charles Osentoski, Dennis Smith, and Billy Ehrler. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
