Donna J Withun

Donna Jean Withun, loving wife, mother and grandmother, 91, of Port Huron Township, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 16, 2023.

She was born February 28, 1932 in Port Huron to the late Roy and Irene Hartman. While attending Port Huron High School she met the love of her life, Elmer Withun. The two were married on April 1, 1950 in Port Huron. Together they had three children, Rodney, Kathie and Brian. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2009 after 59 years of marriage.

Donna loved shopping and anyone that knew her knew she was always one to dress to impress. She spent a lot of her time in the kitchen creating delicious meals and baking. Wedding cakes were her specialty. She loved traveling and attending missionary trips with her husband. Christmas time was her favorite time of the year. The birth of Jesus, the snow on the ground, the lights on the tree and the time spent surrounded by family brought a smile to her face and warmed her heart. Donna was a strong believer in her Christian faith. She spent many years working with the youth group at the Church of God. She later attended Colonial Woods Missionary Church with her family and was a faithful member until her passing.

She is survived by two sons, Rodney Withun (Pat Carson) and Brian (Jane) Withun; son-in-law, Harvey McKenzie; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister, Mildred Gostinger; brother-in-law, Ron Mattox; and many nieces, nephews and close family friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathie McKenzie; daughter-in-law, Sandra Withun; grandson, Christopher Emerick; brother, LeRoy (Bernice) Hartman; sister-in-law, Gloria Mattox; brother-in-law, Jim Gostinger; and best friends, Mary Ragland and Henrietta Hobbs.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2023 in Colonial Woods Missionary Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Phil Whetstone will officiate.

Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery, Clyde Township. Pallbearers will be John Ostrander and Donna’s grandsons, Joe McKenzie, Jason McKenzie, Taylor Dotson, Chandler Dotson and Jace Withun.
