Arlene J. Loxton

November 26th, 1932 to March 17th, 2023

Arlene Joyce Loxton, 90, of Beaverton, formerly of Marysville, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 at My Michigan Health, Midland.

She was born ­­­­November 26, 1932 to the late Ora and Lulu Hartel and married Lawrence “Skip” Loxton on May 19, 1951 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Marysville.

Arlene and Skip owned and operated Loxton Welding in Port Huron for 27 years. She was also a secretary for many years before her retirement. Together with Skip, Arlene enjoyed participating in camping and music jamborees throughout Michigan.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Skip, who is also 90; four daughters, Linda Brittain, Becky Meddaugh, Jackie (Ed) Goebel and Sharon (Butch) Schemansky; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Hartel; sister-in-law, Elaine Hartel; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bernard, sister, Betty; daughter, Janice; son-in-law, Brian; grandson, Jason; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Scott Schemansky, Arlene’s grandson, will officiate.
