Roosevelt Johnson, 78, of Port Huron, was called from labor to reward on Friday, January 27, 2012.
He was born June 12, 1933 in Tchula, Mississippi to the late Willie and Naomi Johnson. He married Dora Greer on December 27, 1953.
Rosie retired from American Tape Company. His main hobby was repairing cars, and he was an excellent self taught mechanic. He was instrumental in the establishment of Bethlehem Temple Church. He was a faithful member and was elevated to the office of Deacon under the leadership of the late Bishop V. Oates.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Dora Johnson; six daughters, Nancy Johnson, Patricia Briggins, both of Port Huron, Narvella (Ted) Jackson of Hawaii, Classie (Paul) Reeder of California, Remonia (Dwayne) Ridner of Florida and Beverly (Cory) Adams of Macomb; a son, George Johnson of Port Huron; three brothers, Rusevelt (Marie) Johnson of Port Huron, Jessie (Donna) Johnson of Kentucky and Lucius Johnson of Chicago; a sister, Lovey (Robert) Watson of Kentucky; his mother-in-law, Classie Henderson; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a host of in-laws, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins; and a devoted church family. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Johnson.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012 in Colonial Woods Missionary Church. Bishop Marvin Mitchell will officiate.
