Obituary

Louis F. Masar, Jr., 77, of Marysville went to Heaven on Friday, April 14, 2023. He was born on January 29, 1946 in Port Huron to the late Louis and Gertrude Masar (Thrushman).

He is survived by his brother, Ronald Masar; sister, Beverly Vansach; nieces, Pam Hendrick and Linda Roberts; nephews, Gary (Darla) Vansach Jr. and Jeff Masar; aunt, Melanie Warsinski; special friend, JoAnn Dumas; and several great nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Gary Vansach Sr.; nephew, Jacob Hendrick; and many aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Louis enjoyed going to church, shopping, eating out, watching TV, especially Wheel of Fortune, Touched by an Angel and any and all old shows from the 60’s and 70’s, family get-togethers with a game or two of Sorry or Rummy and traveling to North Carolina-which also included many games of Sorry. He looked forward to attending the programs at Community Enterprises (especially getting a “pay check”) and activities at Marine City Choices.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at River Bend Assisted Living, China Township for their loving care, patience and support over the last seven years, and the friendships that were formed with all the other residents.

Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023 in Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1023 Michigan Ave., Marysville with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Michael Opfermann will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Vansach Jr., Jeff Masar Sr., Jeffrey and Christopher Masar, Jerry Hendrick and Steve Rohloff.
