Curtis "Wade" Huskey

Curtis “Wade” Huskey, 79, of Mendon, died Thursday, April 20, 2023.

He was born November 4, 1943 in Manila, Arkansas to the late Curtis O. and Helen Huskey.

Wade served in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1965 during the Cuban missile crisis. He was a fourth-generation Southern Baptist minister, receiving his doctorate degree when he was 70 years old. As a loving, big-hearted and unselfish man, he volunteered doing ministry work at hospice homes. He was also employed at American Axle for over 30 years before his retirement. Wade was a jack-of-all trades and loved teaching the future generations. His family was his pride and joy.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Georgette; two children, Lori Koutny (John Pedersen) and Adam (Kimberly) Huskey and his first wife and the mother of his children, Joan Herbert; his step son, Rob Bohnke; four grandchildren, Spenser Frisbie, Brianna Koutny (Tyler Fink), Bryce (Emily) Bates and Brad Bohnke; three great grandchildren, Matthew and Isaac Fink and Brylee Bates; brother, Dwight (Sharon) Huskey; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Barry Huskey.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 in Faith Fellowship Church, 44 VW Avenue W, Schoolcraft, MI 49087. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy.
