Burt Pierce

Burt Andrew Pierce, 73, of Burtchville Township, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023.

He was born September 8, 1949 in Detroit to the late Mary E. and Andrew E. Pierce Sr.

Burt served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his service he was employed with Chrysler Corporation for 35 years prior to his retirement. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, woodworking and building things, and sitting by the water. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and brothers.

He is survived by two daughters, Tanya (Jeremy) Buell and Tara (Jason) Lavely; grandchildren, Austin and Preston Buell, Morgan Lavely, Courtney Willibey, Nicholas and Nathan Buell; four great grandchildren, Aiden, Jaxon, Teagan and Hadley; brothers, Andrew Pierce Jr. “bum” (Kim), and Raymond Pierce; brothers-in-law, Steve Bilicki and Ronald Nagaj; and many nieces, and nephews, including very close ones, Blake, Chase, Whitney and Stephanie. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Tina Bilicki and Diane Nagaj; and sister-in-law, Pat Pierce.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023 in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.
