Raymond S Bowers Sr.

Raymond Stephen Bowers Sr., 88, of Port Huron, died Friday, April 28, 2023.

He was born February 14, 1935 in Viroqua, Wisconsin to the late William E. and Rachel Bowers. He married Shirley Yax on December 26, 1959 in Algonac. She preceded him in death on September 23, 2005 after 45 years of marriage.

Raymond served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1957. He was employed at General Motors for 25 years before his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the VFW and DAV in Utica and enjoyed tinkering on cars.

He is survived by five children, Raymond (Renae) Bowers Jr., Gilbert Bowers, Helen Standefer, Laura (Harvey) Coyle and Dawn (John) Brohl; thirteen grandchildren, Nickolas, Kyle, Brandy, Michael, Julie, Britani, Christina, Gilbert Jr., Desiree, Rease, Aundru, Noah, and Breeanna; 18 great grandchildren; brother, Joseph Bowers, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Robert Standefer; granddaughter, Allison Coyle; great grandson, Stephen Churchill; and six brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2023 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Monday, May 1, 2023 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Dennis Holland will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
