Marilyn Ruth “Lindy” Francek, 65, of Emmett, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 3, 2012.
She was born October 27, 1946 in Detroit to the late Bruce and Ruth Zavitz.
Marilyn graduated from Yale High School in 1964 and worked as an operator for Michigan Bell Telephone for 30 years. In the 14 years since her retirement, she enjoyed her job as a merchandiser at Meijer. Marilyn loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially cheering them on at hockey games and dance recitals. Marilyn also enjoyed being with her many dear friends, including those in the Michigan Bell Birthday Group. She was very creative and enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her son, Bruce (Samantha Lord) Francek of Port Huron; daughter, Danielle (Christopher) Hudson of Port Huron; four grandchildren, Derrek Pence, and Bruce, Mason and Miranda Hudson; two sisters, Marlene Zavitz and Tracy (Gary) Nichols, all of Yale; nieces and nephew, Scott and Brooklyn Blanchard and Chloe Nichols; several cousins; and many wonderful friends.
Visitation will be from 1-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.
Memorials may be made in Marilyn’s name to the Port Huron Minor Hockey Association for player scholarships.
