Carollyn M. Allen

Carollyn M. Allen, 80, of Kimball Township, died Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

She was born June 28, 1942 in Detroit to the late Donald and Kathryn MacInnis. She married Roger Allen on September 3, 1960 in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Rochester. After 58 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on January 7, 2019.

Carollyn graduated from Rochester High School. She was an artist gifted in many different mediums including drawing, painting, and needle arts, especially crochet. She enjoyed working with her husband to give back to the community through various organizations including Lions Club International. She and Roger were also longtime members of the Methodist Church, enjoyed travelling around the world, and hosted seven exchange students over the years. After retiring, they moved to Florida, then to Eastern Tennessee before returning to Michigan.

She is survived by two sons, Roger Allen II and Jon (Jennifer) Allen; three daughters, Rogllyn Packard, Heidi (Mark) Boadway, and Naomi (Josh) Oliver; 12 grandchildren who lovingly called her “Oma”, Roger Allen III, Bradley (Rebecca) Wright, Ashley (Andrew) Burkholder, Alan (Sarah) Boadway, Alex Allen, Brett Boadway, Caylyn (Jacob) Pietryga, Jacob (Shaina) Allen, Daniel Oliver, Jenna Allen, Luisa Oliver and Laura Oliver; 7 great grandchildren, Cassidee, Emma, Kadie, MacKenzie, Josaphine, Matthew and Nataley; sister, Donallyn (Mel) Ward; several nieces and nephews; and loving canine companion, Willow. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Charles Packard.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023 in Marysville United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Curtis Clarke will officiate.
