Carole R Burleigh

Carole Ruth Burleigh, 82, of Port Huron Township, died Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

She was born November 25, 1940 in Marysville to the late George and Ruth Miller. She married Ellery “Al” Burleigh on February 2, 1979 in Toledo, Ohio.

Carole was as a teacher’s aide with the Port Huron Area School District for many years and also worked at the St. Clair County Public Library. She loved classic cars, being outdoors, gardening and volunteering at the Blue Water Area Humane Society. Carole was also a 4-H leader who showed, bred and trained dogs and horses.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Al; daughter, Terri (Larry) Saunders; step-daughter, Danette Lynn (Eric) Landen; grandchildren, Justin (Amanda) Saunders, Brooke Saunders (fiancé Craig Lindke), Alexander Landen, Lauren Landen and Evangelina Landen; great grandchildren, Jade and Dean Saunders; sister, Marilyn Wright; and two nieces, Tammy Marsh and Kim (Wes) Frizzle; and a nephew, Chris Marsh. She was preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Bacon.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Dr. G. Patrick Thompson will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
