Chelse Edward McIvor

Chelse Edward McIvor, 85, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

He was born September 1, 1937 to the late Chelsea and Lucy McIvor. He married Doris May Kleeves on April 27, 1963 in Port Huron and they were married for 54 years before her death on December 3, 2017.

Ed graduated from Port Huron High School. He then served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Catamount for 4 years where he learned the tool & die trade. He returned home and worked in the tool & die industry until his retirement. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating and bowling and was a proud lifetime member of Moose Lodge #158.

He is survived by two daughters, Tammy McIvor and Joddy (Roy) Swoffer; five grandchildren, Shawn (Nikki) McIvor, Shayna McIvor, Alicia (Ricky) Vennettilli, Jessica (Vince) Herbert and Travis Swoffer (Ashley Wallace); 15 great-grandchildren, Alec, Xander, Makayla, Alexa, Garrett, Dalton, Vincent, Vanessa, Jamison, Kylie, Kollin, Bella, Oakley, Oliver and Jackson; one great great grandson, Brayden; a sister, Maxine LaVere; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Barb, Helen, and Virginia.

Military honors under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard will take place at 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Moose Lodge #158, 3520 Military Street, Port Huron. A memorial luncheon will immediately follow until 3:00 p.m.
