Obituary

Marian Locke, 76, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 24, 2023.

She was born May 4, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Willie and Millie Robinson. She married Stanford J. Locke on October 22, 1966. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2020 after 53 years of marriage.

Mrs. Locke worked in medical records for McLaren Hospital for 27 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed spending time at the St. Clair River watching the freighters and eating ice cream with her husband. Marian was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was the guardian angel for her family. She loved the Lord and spending time with fellow Christians, breaking bread. Marian and her husband, Stanford, birthed Outreach for Christ Ministry in 1980 and also helped in the founding of SONS and the Great Commission Church. They started the Gospel Radio Broadcast Program at St. Clair County Community College on Saturdays named Living Water Broadcast with Mr. & Mrs. Messenger bringing the message. She was always at her husband’s side in their various ministries which also included a ministry at Marwood Manor and the Juvenile Center. Marian was currently a member of the Great Commission Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her devoted son, Anthony T. Locke; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Locke; six grandchildren, Amber, Stanford III, Desmond, Darius, Ariyanna and Brittany Locke; sister, Vera Thomas, her husband, Bishop Reynolds Thomas and sister, Joyce Robinson; brothers, DeWitt Robinson and Johnny Robinson; several nieces and nephews; and many relatives and friends in St. Louis, Missouri and Michigan. She was preceded in death by a son, Stanford J. Locke II.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023 in Great Commission Church, 2524 Vanness St., Port Huron, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Al White will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
