Brother Carl E Christiansen

Brother Carl Edward Christiansen, 84, of Marysville, died Saturday, September 2, 2023.

He was born April 16, 1939 in Harbor Beach to the late Edmund and Rosemarie Christiansen.

Brother Carl was a Benedictine Oblate of the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus Council 521 and an active member of Holy Trinity Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church.

He is survived by a sister, Estelle Christiansen; a brother, Joseph (Gretchen) Christiansen; a brother-in-law, Gary Mau; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edmund Christiansen and his sister, Agnes Mau.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

Brother Carl will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023 in Holy Trinity Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Bradley Forintos will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy.

Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.
