Lois Jean Sampson, 89, of Marysville, passed on peacefully to her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on September 12, 2023.

Lois was born May 2, 1934 in Detroit to the late Ferdinand and Ida Beck. She was the youngest daughter of their 11 children who all preceded her in death. She married Patrick Sampson on August 7, 1965 in El Paso, Texas and they were married 52 years until his death in 2018.

Lois loved the Lord and her family with all her heart and she set an example for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren that will lead them throughout their entire lives. She loved reading her Bible. She was a powerful prayer warrior. Only Heaven knows the eternal impact all her years of faithful praying have had on her family, her friends and the entire world.

Lois loved to sing and even recorded a record at 16. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and attended Marysville Baptist and Colonial Woods. She and Patrick spent their summers in Lexington and their winters in Lakeland, Florida, where they attended Lake Gibson Church of the Nazarene.

Lois attended St. John’s Lutheran School in Roseville where she was a champion in the Metropolitan Spelling Bee in 1947 and graduated as the Valedictorian of Eastland High in 1952.

Lois became a Vanda Beauty Counselor at 19. After getting married and moving to Marysville, she worked for the City of Port Huron and also for the University of Michigan. She volunteered at Port Huron Hospital and was a member of the Lois Club. She enjoyed collecting antiques, coins, baseball cards and Beanie Babies. She also loved working with Child Evangelism and was a Good News Club teacher in her home for all the neighborhood children.

Lois will be missed immensely. She is survived by four children, Linda Knight, Scott (Candy) Horth, Gina McKillop and Kelley (Jeff) Hedberg; grandchildren, Michele, Eric, Brittney, Ryan, McKensey, Kelsey, Jeffrey, Kaylee and Jaymey; 6 great grandchildren; expected twin great-great granddaughters; numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews.
