Joan M Cook
Joan Marie Cook, 88, of Clyde Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 after a long illness.
She was born August 27, 1935 in Croswell on her family’s farm to her loving parents, Floyd and Zada Jolley. She married Harold Cook on April 1, 1961 in Croswell. Over their 62 years of marriage, they welcomed three children and built a home and family together in Wadhams, Michigan.
Joan dedicated her life to the care of others as a surgical nurse for over 10 years and an instructor of nursing at St. Clair County Community College for 25 years. She was the heart of her family. She was devoted to education and to her Christian faith, which she instilled in her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and was an extremely talented and creative seamstress, crafting many quilts, embroideries and other works of art over the course of her life. She passed her artistry down to her two daughters and granddaughter. Joan found great joy in being a mother and grandmother, and loved deeply and unconditionally. She valued hard work, kindness, and generosity and leaves behind a legacy that will bless generations of her family to come.
She is survived by her husband, Harold; three children, Laurie Cook, Colleen Liebler, and Douglas Cook; and two grandchildren; Madison (Wesley) Nichols and Ryan Liebler. She will be missed deeply by those who knew her, and was welcomed into heaven by her parents; her brothers, Laurel and Stafford Jolley; and many dear friends.
