Mildred June “Millie” Gostinger, 98, of Clarkston, formerly of Port Huron Township, died Saturday, September 23, 2023.
She was born June 26, 1925 to the late Roy and Mildred "Irene" Hartman. She married James W. Gostinger on May 18, 1946 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1997 after 51 years of marriage.
Mrs. Gostinger was a graduate of Port Huron High School and then was employed at Mueller Brass before leaving to begin her family. She was a devoted lifetime member of Ross Bible Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School and sang in the choir. She enjoyed playing cards and loved enjoying God’s creation, especially feeding the animals in her yard and bird watching.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Pouncey; three grandchildren, Daniel Chiappelli, Jeanine (Joe) Sova and Michelle (Sergei) Zvyagin; 8 great grandchildren, Hunter and Juliana Chiappelli, Joey (Sydney) Sova, Victoria (Craig) Miller, Storm Sova and Julian, Ella, and Ava Zvyagin; 4 great great grandchildren, Vivianna, Sasha, Victor “Steele,” and one on the way; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, James Gostinger Jr.; brother, LeRoy Hartman; sister, Donna Withun; nephew, Gary Hartman; and niece, Kathy McKenzie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in Ross Bible Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Steve Scott will officiate.
Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery, Clyde Township.
